The political climate in our country over the last seven or eight months has been unsettling and there has not been a lot to report. It has been a bit difficult to get motivated, but life has to go on and so will our News reports. Sorry for not keeping you
updated.
TIME TO MOVE ON Just over two years ago, we were
pleased to welcome to Ovalau, Jay Klein. He accepted a position in
Tokou Village as a US Peace Corps volunteer. Primarily working as a
teacher in the village primary school, Jay also organised
second hand computers from the US for the school. He was also
involved in pioneering the construction of composting toilets in the
village. It is now time for Jay to move on and everyone here will miss his
friendly smile, his inspiration to other volunteers and his genuine
concern for the people of this country. He has proved to be a great
ambassador for his country. Thanks, Jay, for everything you have contributed and we wish you all
the best in your future endeavours. OVALAU'S BEST KEPT SECRET There are so many things to do on Ovalau and one of our best kept
secrets is the diving in the Lomaiviti waters. We don't dive
ourselves, but many of our guests who do dive here rave about the variety
of diving on offer with Ovalau
Watersports. If you look closely at the photo above, you will see a small shrimp
riding on the seahorse's back. This is just one of the many things
you can discover if you dive here. There are big fish, small fish,
soft coral, hard coral, deep dives and shallow dives - something for
