School's out!!!

ANOTHER PIECE OF HISTORY BECOMES HISTORY

At approximately 7.30pm on Friday, October 14, there was a fire at the Levuka Public School. The two year old Primary School building, which was only two years old, w as completely gutted, as was the old wooden building housing Form 3 students. Unfortunately one of the teacher's houses was also burnt to the ground.
If it was not for the efficiency of our volunteer Fire Brigade under the command of Peleki Leweniqila, the whole school complex would have burnt down. They toiled under difficult conditions and were hampered by a lack of water pressure. Hopefully the Government can address this problem in the near future. Thanks, guys, for a job well done.
We feel for the students who face the difficult task of studying for their end of year exams without classrooms and teaching materials.
So if you are from Levuka or are an ex-LPS scholar, please rally to the cause and send donations to help the school get back to normal.
